Self build home built to the Passive House Standard
This beautifully designed barn style home was a self build dream for the McDonald Family.
Their ambition was to build an extension to their existing home which would achieve the highest standards of comfort and energy efficiency. The existing building was built using straw bales, so the McDonalds were conscious of choosing a buildings method which complemented their existing low impact home.
The certified ECO 220 Passive Wall System was the obvious choice, as this wall system met their environmental and sustainable requirements, as well as provide a warm, comfortable and energy efficient home for their family.
