Self build home built to Passive House Standard
This build was always one which demanded the complete opposite of what the family had been previously living with in poorly built, cold and damp rented houses. Appalling levels of comfort and high heating bills lead Paul and Carole Farrelly to research the high energy efficient building practice, known as the Passive House Standard. During their research, they quickly realised that this was a no brainer, high levels of insulation, draft free, all round comfort.
The bar was set, and they progressed on to engage an architect who who had the necessary Passive House designer credentials and experience, as well as design the house in tandem with the PHPP design software.
The German certified ECO 220 Passive Wall System was the clear choice for this family’s new home.
